"Curvy women are real women. Skinny women are real women. Women who have had boob jobs or lip enhancements or liposuction are still real women. Size 0 may make no sense mathematically, but a woman who wears that size is as real as the one who wears a size 16. What makes us “real” people is not the shape of our flesh but our basic humanity. And we lose our humanity when we judge – not when we lose weight, gain weight, or make the intensely personal decision to undergo cosmetic surgery."

eliseheather asked: I'm so proud of you! Getting rid of my scale was the hardest thing ever, but the best thing for my recovery! What made you get rid of it to begin with?

I have one that is really inaccurate, so I put it at the bottom of my stuff. It’s not that I got rid of the old one, more that I never got an accurate one.

if you still haven’t heard this today, you are beautiful, you are perfect in your own way, your flaws make you you, they make you unique, and you’re good enough. keep staying strong, sweetheart, this darkness will get brighter, little fighter.

Guysguysguys.

So I haven’t been posting a lot of personal posts lately because I’ve been struggling a ton and I don’t want to trigger anyone, but I had a small victory today that I wanted to share.

I’ve been trying to keep this relapse at bay by avoiding owning a scale, but the urge to buy one has been mounting. I almost did today when I was out with friends, but instead I saved the money and went and got a cookie with them for dessert. (:

Ever noticed how your body is trying to keep you safe?

When you hurt yourself and don’t put a band-aid on it because you think you deserve the pain

Your body creates a natural band-aid to keep you protected.

When you want to tear open your skin

Your skin fights back, creates a tough skin of scar tissue to prevent it happening again.

When you take all those pills because you’ve had enough

Your stomach contracts to get rid of them

Because your body

                  Wants you

To live.

when you’re eating pretty well but you start doubting if you should eat this much and you could restrict but you are strong enough to keep going yet you still have so many many confusing thoughts because your hunger cues are messed up and ed is fighting harder than ever to keep its grip on you

silver lining: you know that you have it in you to tell ed to shut the fuck up
